You MUST obtain a Marriage License in order to be legally married.
The officiant DOES NOT provide the Marriage License.

the Hilton Head office is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Fridays, 9am-4pm, by appointment only. You may pick up your license at the Island office even if you made the application in Beaufort.

The price for a marriage license is $50 if both parties are Beaufort County residents, $75 if at least one person is a resident of South Carolina, and $95 if neither party is a South Carolina resident; payment must be made in exact cash. Each party must be at least 18 to marry without parental consent and at least 16 with parental consent. The state of South Carolina does not require blood tests or physicals.
